Friends,
I’ve been on the job for six months, and often asked how it’s going. I’m doing well, and feeling recharged now after a few days off. I’m ready to stand up for you in 2019, and to support local residents and community groups working for social justice.
But I have a related question for you. How do you think we are doing, both at the Ontario Legislature, and here at home in Ottawa Centre?
I’m hosting a potluck dinner at 6pm on January 26 at Centretown United Church, and I’d like to know what you think. I’d like to know if we are on the right track, both locally and provincially.
To quickly recap what we’ve done so far:
In Ottawa Centre, we’ve helped over 250 people with case work assignments, met with 151 organizations, hosted three town halls, two community feasts, and several community canvasses. At all of these events we’ve listened to local concerns, and connected them to larger campaigns.
But is this enough? Are we inspiring people to demand more from politics, and to build the strength of us? That’s what I’d like to discuss with you over dinner on January 26. I’ll bring two crock pots of veggie chili with fixings. Others are welcome to bring more food.
Please RSVP below.
