Save public health care!

On Monday Premier Ford announced his intention to privatize the delivery of non-urgent surgeries in Ontario. He said these changes were “permanent”, but offered no details as to where and how this plan would roll out.

The Premier said it’s time to “move past ideology”.  And he promised no Ontarian will ever need their debit or credit card for health care. But many Ontarians are already paying fees for essential medical needs. Private clinics thrive on fees, and upselling for health services.

We deserve to know how any plan involving private, for-profit health clinics will work, and what it will cost. So I’m offering a tour outside two private health care clinics in Centretown this Thursday, so residents can learn about the costs associated with private clinics.

We will meet across the street from the Lord Elgin hotel at the entrance of Confederation Park. Please dress warmly. This community action will take about an hour.
