Linda Thom's Gold Medal 40th Anniversary Celebration

On July 29th, 1984 Los Angeles Summer Olympics, Old Ottawa South's Linda Thom won a gold medal in the women's 25 m Pistol event. This win meant that Thom became the first woman to win a gold medal in shooting, the first Canadian woman to win a gold medal in the Summer Olympics since 1928 and the first Canadian to win a gold medal in the Summer Olympics since 1968.

Join us on Monday, July 29th, 2024 at 6 p.m., in Linda Thom Park to celebrate the 40th anniversary of this incredible achievement.

Come and celebrate a true Olympics icon and listen as shares her recollections and story, see an actual Olympic gold medal and take a photo with an Olympic medalist.

Light refreshments will be provided. Please bring your own chair.
