Time and again, we've heard that Ontario is not on track to become a fully accessible province by 2025, a deadline imposed by the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA).
Ontario needs a plan of action on accessibility, and it’s time to open up the Ontario Legislature to hear from those directly impacted by failing to meet AODA targets.
And so, with that in mind, I write to invite you to an Accessibility Town Hall at the Ontario Legislature on April 10, 2019. Following Question Period, we will be hosting six hours of open presentations to listen to your perspectives from 12:00pm-6:00pm. Refreshments will be provided.
I am pleased that David Lepofsky (Chair, AODA Alliance) and Sarah Jama (Co-Founder, Disability Justice Network of Ontario) will be joining us. All necessary accommodations will be available to ensure you can participate.
Please join us! Ontario needs your ideas, expertise, and passion to ensure this province is accessible to all, where everyone can live their lives to the fullest.
This is an accessible venue. Please email or call us about any accommodations you require - we want to ensure that everyone's access needs are met.
RSVPs are now closed, but please feel free to email us a written submission.
