NDP Critic for Accessibility implores Ford government to table third review of the AODA

Published on March 6, 2019

QUEEN’S PARK — NDP MPP Joel Harden, the Official Opposition critic for Accessibility and Persons with Disabilities, today sent an open letter to the Minister for Seniors and Accessibility Raymond Cho, calling on him to immediately table in the legislature David C. Onley’s independent third review of the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA).

Harden further asked the Minister to lift the Ford government’s 258-day and counting freeze on the committees appointed under the AODA to advise the government on dismantling barriers to people with disabilities.

By immediately tabling Onley’s review, which was submitted to the Ford government Jan. 31, the Minister would signal a willingness to meet the goal, established by the AODA, of making Ontario fully accessible by 2025.
